Maids of Honor

“And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word…” Luke 1:38 “And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit…” Acts 2:18 Calvary Life Center’s Ladies group calls itself “Maids of Honor” and is one of the friendliest, most supportive groups of ladies anywhere! We are more like sisters than just individuals who happen to frequent the same place. When you join us, you’ll see the camaraderie among us. It’s truly amazing to see women from all walks of life with dozens of different background experiences come together and instinctively know when one among us is hurting or struggling. We rejoice when one is happy and we cry with those who need to cry. The Maids of Honor meet on the second Monday of each month at 6:00 P.M. One month we have a social with food, decorations, activities and lots of visiting and laughs! The next month we come together for the sole purpose of praying together and allowing God to lift and direct our spirits. The third month, we have a teaching session where we are taught by the principles of the Word of God. When we follow them, we live happier, more fulfilling lives. Then, on month four, we start all over again with another social. Any lady is welcome at our Ladies’ Meetings. Come and see what it is all about!
Nessie Elliott was a cherished member of C.L.C. for many years until she went to be with the Lord in 1994. A delightful cook, one of her favorite special occasion cookies was called, “Maids of Honor”.

Rubies

“ Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.” Proverbs 31:10 A group of mature ladies in Calvary Life Center call themselves “The Rubies”. They are ladies who have advanced through life beyond the responsibility of small children and they meet together once a month in one of their homes. They share light refreshments and a time of uplifting conversation and reminiscing. They also have time for prayer and no doubt, a sewing, gardening or cooking tip or two as they embrace this beautiful season God has brought to their lives. The treasured, late, Sister Ruby Tenor was a precious member of C.L.C. for many years. She is most known and fondly remembered for saying about people, “I’ve been knowing them for a long time”.
